Question: I still feel like i am fat!? am i anorexic!?
i am 13, 5''4 and in May of 2008 i was 160 lbs!. and now it is August and i am 137 lbs!. but i still feel like i am that same fat, chubby girl!. i am always depressed and i restricted my calorie intake to just 300 calories a day!. today i had 1 banana and i still am not hungry i actually feel guilty for eating that banana!. my mom buys the family unhealthy snacks and food and i feel like she wants me to be fat just like the rest of my family!. i feel like food is my enemy!. when i hit 140 lbs!. my weight plateaud and i began to do what ever it took to still lose weight!. i exercise everyday and it still seems like it isn't enough!. in my school if you are not skinny then you are automatically picked on even if your face it chubby!. am i anorexic!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, you're not anorexic!. YET!. You need to stop giving into peer pressure and thinking that society and the people's opinions around you matter because they don't! (Unless they're POSITIVE) I'm sure you're a very pretty girl!.(Unperverted-wise!. I'm a 16 year old girl myself!.) You aren't at an anorexic weight, you are at a healthy weight!. But this looks like it is headed south and you should eat a healthy diet and get regular exercise, I recommend 5 small meals a day with 30 minutes of cardio!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are overweight for your height, but your attitude is dangerous!. You need at least 1500 to 1800 calories a day to get proper nutrition in your diet!.

You didn't get heavy overnight, so don't try to lose the weight overnight!. To go from 160 to 120 pounds should take you two years, not two months!.

If you feel guilty about eating a banana, then you are on the road to ruin!. Talk to your doctor about what you're feeling and let her come up with a course of treatment for you!.

BTW, the easiest way to lose weight quickly is not to starve yourself, but to eat frequent smaller meals that include a cup of leafy green vegetables!. If you try to starve yourself, your body starts to shut down your metabolism so that you actually end up losing weight more slowly!. you should go to a doctor so he/she tell you what it's the weight that you can have or be, but i recommend you to drink every day 8 glasses of water (water no juice or tea because those have sugar), eat your 3 meals every day but until you are satisfied not full, don't eat after the 7:30 pm and if you do drink a glass of milk and that's it, try to walk at least 30 min!. and i'm sure that will help you, i lose 5 pounds in 3 weeks and i'm 22 years with one kid so you can do it!. and for snacks try to eat a fruit or a granola bar something like that very small!. good luck sweety, but go to a doctor first ok, bye!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

300 calories a day is not enough!. You may be anorexic, you need to talk with a counselor at school!. Be honest with them about your behaviors, and get some help!. Low calorie dieting can actually make you gain weight, because your body thinks you are starving, and will store every calorie you eat as fat, so you don't die!. You have to get your body to relax its survival system!. Here's how you do it:

Don't count calories!. You should be eating healthy, well-balanced meals that include lots of vegetables, whole grains, lean meat and dairy, and fruit!. You should eat until you're not hungry any more, and then stop!. Only eat desserts after eating a complete meal!. And snack on vegetables and other healthy foods!. Drink plenty of pure water, and limit soda and junk foods!.

When you start doing this, you might gain some weight at first, because you may be dehydrated!. But, after some time, your body will let go of any extra fat and your body composition will become normalized!. (Ideal body fat %, well-hydrated, good muscle and bone mass!.)

You're still growing, your body needs plenty of healthy foods in order to develop properly!. Your body knows what it needs, listen to it!. If you feel hungry, eat!. If you feel full, stop eating!.
