You'll miss a lot of protein and minerals by cutting out meat. What you eat doesn't dictate whether you'll lose weight -- it's how much you eat and how often you eat that make the difference. Six small meals or snacks per day are better for you than three squares or one big meal per day, and if you're taking in more calories than your body needs you'll gain weight no matter what you're eating. My advice is to keep meat in your diet -- any time you cut out a major food group you're going to have nutrition and health issues.
