Tips for someone who wants to start jogging? ?!

Question: Tips for someone who wants to start jogging!? !?
I used to run cross country from about the age of 8 to 15, but I stopped when I started working, and now I'm 19!.!. I played badminton this year, up until february but we never ran long distances!. Last time I tried running (2 or 3 months ago) I had a really hard time and got super tired even though i only went about 1 km!. Got any tips for someone who wants to start running again!? Is it safe run run until you feel like your legs are about to give out!? Or should you stop before this!? (Because last time I pushed until I almost physically collapsed!.!. didn't feel good for a few days, but I didnt know if thats that way to go or to stop before that)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Best to start slowly and build up very gradually!. I would even recommend a walk/jog combination at first - run 1 min, jog 4 min and repeat 5 times for a total of 30 minutes!. Do that for a week, then go to walk 2 min, jog 3 min, etc!. Eventually, increase the time and walk/jog combination as you are comfortable, until you are jogging, then running most of the time!. It's also really important to stay well hydrated, both before and during your workout!. And be sure to replace electrolytes by drinking a sports drink, or other electrolyte replacement!. As you increase time and speed, pay attention to nutrition - carbs are necessary to restore glycogen!. There's lots of good websites, too, just search for "running & training"Www@Answer-Health@Com

What I would do is to get a couch to 5K training plan!. This will help you get into running comfortably!. I would just type in couch to 5k plan in google and tons of plans should come up!. Just pick the one that is the best for you!. I would set a 5k race to motivate you!. After that you can set longer distances if you want!. It probably is not good to push yourself that much, you should gradually add up your mileage and be comfortable!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
