I joined a gym 1 year ago, lost 20 lbs and now it's creeping back!?!

Question: I joined a gym 1 year ago, lost 20 lbs and now it's creeping back!!?
I've been going to the gym 4-5 days a week for a year now!. I am 5' 7" and my starting weight was 155!. I got down to 132 and was quite happy!.My clothes were fitting great and I felt very satisfied with my results!. I usually do some weight-training and 30-40 min of cardio on the elliptical machine!.
I changed my work schedule recently, so I had to take a few days off over the last month!. Now I am trying to get back on track, but it seems like I forgot all the little things I was doing outside of the gym to help, like portion control and not eating late!. I now weigh almost 140 and I am afraid I will gain it all back(at one point 5 years ago I weighed 165!!)
I was just wondering if this is normal!. I find that the more I work out, the hungrier I am!. I also wonder if I've hit some sort of "plateau"!. I just would like to get back in the swing of things and keep all those new jeans I bought! Any help would be much appreciated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go back to how you were doing things before!. It's hard to break unhealthy habits even if you only do them for a little bit!. It will get easier once you get back on track!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I find that it is easier to find time for running than for going to the gym because you can do it in your own neighbourhood!. Personally, I haven't been to the gym in years!. I've found that running works best for me (and saves time)!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is definitely normal since as you get older your weight fluctuates all the time!. I believe instead of working out for a long time you should keep it short and intense!. Intensity is infact more important than how many exercises you do!.

I suggest that you spend less time doing cardio and focus more on weight-training!. The secret is the more muscle you have the EASIER it is to keep your weight under control!. Start off with 4 sets of 12 reps per exercise when weight-training and gradually reduce down to 3 sets of 10, then 2 sets of 8!. The last rep you should be straining!. Weight training should be done 3-4 times per week for no more than an hour!. Also note that the majority of exercises should be COMPOUND exercises!. Focus on weights instead of machines!. Also to make it more interesting, CHANGE the order of the exercises every few workouts to force your muscles to adapt!.

Replace cardio with HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)!. For example you walk for 2min then sprint all out for 30 sec, this becomes 1 cycle!. Complete 4 cycles (10 min)!. HIIT should be done on the days you don't have weight-training!. For every week increase by 1 cycle of walking and sprinting!.

With respect to eating!. Eat 4-6 smaller meals rather than 3 large meals!. This will allow you to concentrate a lot more when you work out!. Also drink more water and get about 8 hours of sleep per night!.

I know this is LONG but it's serious!. Email me @ skilled_methodz@hotmail!.com on your progress!.

Hope this works :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
