Not losing weight despite lots of effort!!

Question: Not losing weight despite lots of effort!
For the past 3 weeks I've been doing an hour intensive workout every night and I've started cycling more too!. I weighed myself today for the first time since I started and I've actually put on a couple of pounds despite all this exercise! Should I be worried!? I've been eating sensibly so this has left me feeling pretty crushed! xWww@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like some lean muscle to me! Muscle weighs more than fat, so if you replaced some fat with muscle, it will take your body a little bit of time to adjust your metabolism to burn at the *higher* (yay you!) rate that the muscle burns!.

Hang in there and see how something that wasn't fitting right last month fits now!. I know it's frustrating - I'm a number on the scale girl too, so if it doesn't seem "right" I go try my favorite jeans on!. Jeans don't lie ;)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your name said petite minx, I noticed!. If you are petite, then I would think you don't need to lose weight!
But if you are just trying to tone up, then exercising like that will definitely put on muscle!. For me, it's not about weight, it's about the way I look!. Gaining muscle will make you gain a few pounds, actually!.
And a couple of pounds can easily be water weight too!. It's best to weigh yourself in the morning, but be careful not to do it obsessively everyday!Www@Answer-Health@Com

No don't be worried!.

Because you have been working out a lot more and exercising more then if is likely that you have more muscle now!. Muscle weighs more than fat so would put on some extra pounds!.

I wouldn't focus on your weight but just on eating healthily and doing regular exercise because you can't be fat or unhealthy if you do that!

No do not be worried and for god sake don't give up!

Muscle weighs more than fat, you might find that your clothes start to fit better, you start to look fitter and the scale stays smack bang where it started!.

Don't get too caught up in weighing yourself!.

I'm 5ft3 and 10st7lbs, I wear a size eight and have a flat toned stomach due to the amount of sports and exercise I do, I have a high muscle ratio which makes me weigh more and last week when I told someone what I weighed, she said quote!.

'I wouldn't have put you above 8 stone'

So don't worry about the scales, what matters is how good you feel and how good you look!.

Keep up the good work!.

Do you look any different!? Muscle weighs more than fat so if you are putting muscle on your weight will actually increase a little the first month or so!. Keep up the good work, don't get discouraged, and power forward!.

I'm in the same boat, the last month and a 1/2 I've been in the gym lifting and doing 45 minutes of cardio!. I haven't lost an ounce!. Clothes fit better though!.

Good Luck :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You will be building up muscle mass, which is a good thing, but accounts for the extra pounds!.
Three weeks is not a long time, you just need to stick at it!.
It sounds like you are doing great, healthy balanced diet and plenty of working out!.

Keep up the good work and you will notice a difference in the next few weeks!.

Good luck :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, you should not be worried!. You are probably losing inches and not pounds for right now!. In addition, you have probably gained more muscle as a result of your workouts, and muscle weighs more than fat!.

Don't give up!.!.!.and remember to drink half your body weight in ounces of water on a daily basis!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

DON'T GIVE UP!! It's definitely going to take longer than three weeks!. ANd if you're working out, you're probably building muscle!. Just keep going!!! Eat healthy, drink water, exercise, and sleep, and you WILL lose weight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just exercising can't lose you weight!.
Try drinking more water!. More water lets you pee more!.
And eating raw veggies!. Vegetables have fibre which lets you poo more easily!.

You shouldn't be worried unless you're obese or something!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

For the first couple of weeks your body is turning your fat into muscle!. This may result in a few lbs of weight gain!. After a month or so, you should begin to see a difference!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
