How long should you rest between a set?!

Question:

How long should you rest between a set?

???im lifting for mass.

Answers:

For mass, it is suggested to use less rest. A good mass program would be the 5x5, which is 5 sets of five reps. You want to find a weight that you can only lift for 5 reps. The other 4 sets you should not be able to pull of 5 reps. The goal is to work to 5 sets of 5 reps, and after that is achieved you increase weight. Use this with major body parts such as the chest, back, and biceps and then do smaller sets (3x8-10) for smaller muscles such as shoulders and triceps. Between the 5x5 sets, start your rest at 90 seconds, and each week as it becomes easier, decrease the time until you are down to a bout 30 seconds. At this point, you should be able to do 5 sets of 5 reps, and increase the weight and rest time back to 90 seconds.
