Gluten free...?!

Question:

Gluten free...?

My mum is celiacs but I'm not. I've been really tired lately.

I'm thinking about going on a non-gluten diet for a few weeks to see if I feel better.

My uncle went on a gluten free diet (even though he isn't celiacs) and he said he felt better.

Is this a good idea?

P.S. I get sick often and all my blood tests were normal and Ive been taking multi vitamins which don't do anything!

Answers:

Hi. So u were blood tested fore Celiac? Celiac is highly genetic and hereditary so it is highly likely you have but may still test negative on the blood work for several reasons: lab error, doc ordered wrong test, doc read test wrong, u werent eating enough gluten, or sufficent damage hasnt been done yet.
Genetic testing can tell u if u carry the genes that make u likely to have CD triggered. If u are suddenly feeling bad it could be that u indeed have CD but it only recently has been triggered (CD must be triggered in someone. THey can carry the genes for years and not have any problems until something liek stress, pregnancy, illness, surgery, infection, etc, triggers it.)

It is highly possible to feel better on a gluten free diet just by nature of u cutting out all the processed and refined flours and foods.

I'd really suggest getting a proper diagnosis however but if u do NOT have Celiac and still dont feel good, going GF could mask the symtpoms and make it harder to figureo ut what's wrong.

Feel free to email me for private help.
