Why am i loosing strength?!


Question:

Why am i loosing strength?

Not gaining strength.

Hi i am 15 and have been doing strength training for about 2.75mths and havent really improved since about halfway into this. Records are 65 Pushups (touch chest on floor,wide arms) 30x 50lb weight curls and 22x 50lb weight overhead/shoulder press. But lately it (in same order and weight) has been 45 or 50, 15-20 and still about 19-22 for the overhead press. but ionly started overhead press last week. the only thing i can think of is i used to do them around 3pm now i do them around 5.30pm

I have a journal and i dont think im really losing strength maybe im just having a whole series of bad days. I think i do it too late in the arvo. And those records are when i really push myself.

i do it every 2nd day but somtimes it is like 4-6 days inbetween.

I have put on about 5kg and these reps were half on lighter weights when i started.


Answers:

Your high rep exercises are eating up a lot of calories and not particularly suited toward gaining strength.

The theory behind strength training is low reps (say 4 to 6) and low sets (again maybe 4 to 6) with long rest periods in between each set (2 to 3 minutes). Of course you'll have to eat a lot too, don't forget that.
