Question: I want to start a diet plan!.!.!.!?
I want to lose weight before my boyfriends grad party, I want to start with a like cleansing phase but the right way!.!. I want to lose about 15 to 20 lbs in 5 weeks!.!.!.I need help with a work out plan and what to eat to help im not a big meat person if that helps!.!.!. I really really need some help with this I also just need to hear good stories on how maybe to keep off!.!.!.please help and if you do cleanse your body what do you do what do you eat drink!?!?!?!.!.!.Im so clueless and in need of some help on this I really want to start a healthy lifeWww@Answer-Health@Com

ok!.!.!.this will work, but you have to stick to it and not cheat!.

First you have to exercise!. You eat fruit and veggies one day and only milk and yogurt the next day!. Whole milk and plain yogurt!. You can only eat 12pm to 6pm!. And you have to drink lots of water, and only diet soda!. You will lose more than 15lbs!. in 3 weeks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't understand the whole fad with clensing!.!.!.your body is made for it, just eat the right foods and drink plenty of water!. You will need to sub the meat with protein!. I make a chili with black beans!. They are rich in both fiber and protein!. There are plenty of recipes on recipezaar!.com!. Just type in tofu or black beans as an ingredient!.

Self!.com has a great online diet and exercise program, and all it costs is a subscription!. There are even videos that you can watch to make sure you are doing things correctly!. You need to make sure you are working out, too!. You will lose inches faster and keep the muscle that will make you look better!. You won't bulk up, but have sexy little muscles!.

When I do a cleanse, I make huge batches of lentil soup with tons of veggies, and add very few pieces of meat if any!. I basically have this soup for lunch and dinner!.
The rest of the time, it's tons of fruits and veggies!.

I am trying to get back on track here!.!.!.

I have been gain a lot back!. But the diet plan I've always done has been Weight Watchers!. But I don't eat pre packaged meals, I make all my meals!. I don't like frozen meals!.!.!.

What I am doing now is that since I pretty much know the points for me and have a points calculator, I am just doing it on my own!.

BOTTOMLINE: even if you eat really healthy the key is Workingout!. This will define to what extent and the progression of the loss!.

"cleansing" is SUCH nonsense!.

There's nothing to "cleanse"!. You have kidneys and a liver that do a fantastic job of it on their own, without some wacky concoction courtesy of the clueless!.!.

You made a statement about "really ant to start a healthy life"

rule #1: Don't listen to people who don't have a clue!. This includes most people on the internet/magazine articles/celebrities!.

rule #2: If spot reducing, "fast results", or "cleansing" are mentioned!.!. see rule #1!.

15-20lbs in 5 weeks!.!. if you're looking for a healthy permanent drop!.!. since you mention "how to keep it off"!.

what you want is to decrease bodyfat!. Bodyfat is 3500/calories per pound!.!.(meaning, to store it, you have to over-consume 3500 calories)!.!. also means to burn it, you have to be DEFICIENT 3500 calories!. So, to lose 1lb per week, you need to be deficient 500 calories a day!.!.!.!. but you're trying to lose 4lbs/week!.!.!. meaning you have to be deficient 2000 calories!.!. EVERY DAY!.!.!. so, how do you pull that off, yet remain healthy!?

You don't!.

Why!? because you need to eat!.!. even if you were at a VERY LOW 1200 cals/day!.!. to drop down 20lbs of fat in 5 weeks!.!. you'd need to expend 3200 calories a DAY!.!.!.!. why!? because you ATE 1200, and need to be DEFICIENT 2000, to reach your 4lb loss/week!.

Not a great idea :-)

That's supposing we're looking at permanent fat loss, rather than temporary water losses from stupid "cleansing" practices!.

Sooo, we need a more moderate/sensible/maintainable approach!.!.

log what you're taking in! You have a gas gauge on your car to know how much fuel you're using, and you balance a checkbook to know how much $$ you have!.!.!. if you need to be in a caloric deficit, you need to know how much you're eating first!.!. start logging it! write it down! and count every last detail!! There's some GREAT online resources that are free, to help you figure out how many you're taking in!.!.!.

As for working out!.!. large muscle groups expend more calories!.!.

A squat is going to spend more calories than an inner/outer thigh machine, and a good compound pressing movement such as a chest press/bench press is going to expend more calories than a little tricep extension!.!.

work large muscle groups in a slow, controlled manner!.!. don't be afraid to put weight on the bar/machine!.!. being female, you don't have the chemistry to grow huge/manly!.!.!. hell, most GUYS don't have the chemistry to grow huge!

large muscle groups, moderate weight, controlled pace!.!. short rest between sets (60-90 sec)!.!.!.

most importantly!.!. consistency counts! Everyone is a champ on Monday!.!.!. it's the Friday training, and the weekend abstaining from junk that'll get you to your goal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Bellestar, you have taken the first step which I have come to learn is sometimes the hardest, but I have also learned that thoes unwilling to take step one never take step two!.
Step Two: I would suggest that you read the book "What Color is your Diet" by Dr!. David Heber, director for Human Nutrition UCLA!.
I know that starting a new life style is not easy and if you want to lose the weight and keep it off it is a lifestyle change that you have to make!.
I used to weigh 280 lbs at my heaviest and with eating sensibley and exercising I lost 30 lbs in one year!. What I learned was that even tho I was eating as healthy as I knew how my body was not getting what it needed, expecially protein!. I started doing a protein supplemental meal program and doing two protein shakes a day and eating one regular meal I lost 20 lbs in two weeks and over a foot of body fat, I have went on to lose over 65 lbs and have kept it off now for over 2 1/2 years!. There are a number of programs that are out there, but I personally like the Herbalife program the best as I belive that it is of the highest quality, and now to maintain my weight I do one protein shake a day and eat 2 regular meals plus a protein snack mid afternoon!.
I know that at first I did not think that I could keep it up, that I would get bored with it or that I would crave other foods, but within one week of starting this program my cravings dissapeared, this is because my body was getting the nutrients that it needed on a daily basis and so the cravings and snacking late at night went away!.
