There is only one way to lose the fat in your midsection, and that is to lose fat overall. The truth is, we tend to gain fat from the bottom up and lose weight from the top down.

If you work with machines that offer a goal, i.e. a cardio workout or a fat-burning workout, many instructors will tell you that you will lose just as much fat if you select the fat burning workout. However, personal experience tells me that choosing the fat burning workout is the better choice to lose fat!

Also, switch the type of exercise you perform every 7-9 weeks. Good exercises are walking, cross country skiing, elliptical, etc. Be gentle with your knees and all of your joints!
