Could someone suggest ways i could gain weight?!


Question: Ive always been naturally slim, i hate being skinny :( some women wont like me saying that, they wont understand it.

i feel horrid in shorts and have never wore a skirt in public because i just feel too uncomfortable, i always feel cold because i have no fat on me, i think id like to feel stronger more than anything, i feel like a weakling! id like to put on weight healthily, and not just stuff my self with fat- based food.
I will prob see my doctor for protein powder and things like that, but i need excersize or meal ideas please?

I know exactly how you feel! I am also really skinny and people always comment about it and try and force food down me because they think I never eat. I've managed to put on a bit of weight just by eating more, but still making sure it is healthy food and not junk food. Basically, you need to take in more calories than you're burning. But i exercise as well. You also need to build up muscle in you arms or they'll look like sticks compared to the rest of you.

eat meals high in protein.

If you want to gain some good healthy weight keep a steady routine workout and eat hard broiled eggs, lots of red meats, and drink cold milk and water. Also, instead of a cardiovascular workout, lift weights.

first to ask yourself... are my parents skinny? if your answer is yes... then you need to work hard to gain weight, if your answer is no. then, no need to worry, you didn't mention how old you are.. eat protein rich food, and go to the gym, not all people who go to the gym needs to lose weight, some are there to gain weight too...

Well i would suggest a trip to your docotor and check out whether theres any reasons or you not putting on any weight. This has happened to a friend of mine. However, food that help you gain weight are : Choose healthy foods such as baked potatoes, baked chicken and fish, just make your portions a bit bigger.
Keep your meals balanced. One meal should have a healthy protein source such as fish, low fat meat, chicken or legumes plus two or three servings of vegetables. Green vegetables add lots of vitamins and phytonutrients while starchy potatoes and corn add extra calories.
Drink healthy beverages such as milk and fruit juices to add calories. Don't choose sugary sodas, which only add calories and no nutrition.
Then exercise!!! that builds the body! Hope i helped.

I have the same problem i am way to skinny...... Do you eat alot because i do and my parents could not figure why i wasn't gaining weight i mean ate just as much as my sisters but they weighed so much more i mean my sister who is 10 weighed 1en punds more than me as i was 13 and ate twice as much...... So my parents got worried and took me to the doctors and they found out that my thirord was high it was 7.4 when was supoose to be .7 or 1.7 That means i had a very fast digestive system.. so whatever i ate just went out.. So i would go and see the doctor bcasue since i got the medicne (because i had othe rthings wrong to but nevermind) I have gain weight ..... If that is not wrong woth you i suggest going to see a nutrientist who can help you gain weightthe healthy way

I know how you feel!

Eat lots of beans, chili and potatos and drink plenty of beer to wash it down.
You'll start filling out in no time.
You'll toot like a sailor but you'll look good.

I have the same problem. I do understand what you mean. Foods such as breads (multigrain), cereals and noodles are energy dense and has carbohydrates. Eating 6-8 small meals a day is good so your always eating every 1-2 hours. Health food shops offer protien powder which is rich in vitamins and minerals as well as protien for muscle development/repair.
Full cream milk, yogurt and cheeses are healthy ways to gradually put on weight.
And is definately okay to have chocolate one in a while. All in all a balanced and vaired diet is essentil for healthy and gradual weight gain, you definately dont need to stuff your face with hot chips and chocolate thick shakes.

This diet with moderate physical activity will have you feeling better and having a healthier body,
Weight bearing exercises are good for healthy weight gain as they build lean mass.

Chocolates. Fatty foods and Full fried breakfasts and
Egyptian P.T.! That is lay on your pit all day and do nowt!

I see the point that you want to gain weight, but actually you need to get muscles instead of gaining weight.

1-Practice exercises every other day and run every other day. Exercises and running not only help you to get skinny, but ot get muscles. If you do exercises and jogging, you will keep your shape and at the same time you will help your body to get enough muscles.

2-Go to the Fitness Center closed to your home, ask the manager or the couch to give some advices about how to get muscles without harm yourself. You need muscles, but remember you don't need too much muscles, otherwise you will repent later.

3- have enough muscles will change the shape of your body and you will feel much better. In other words, you will still be skinny, but you will be skinny in the beautiful way. People will look at you and they will say wow...

4- Ask your doctor too. He will tell you what kind of medicine or vitamins you need to improve your body shape.

If you eat a good variety of nutritious food and are healthy then the weight you are is your ideal weight. You say you feel cold? get checked out for anaemia, maybe you need iron? The doc wont give you protein foods if you are really eating properly and not anorexic.
