I would like a healthy diet to lose 20 lbs.?!


Question: I run about 3 miles a day and am working my way up to more miles. I need to lose about 20 pounds and I know I eat the wrong foods. I eat good food like a good salad, but I eat Chinese food which they say has a lot of fat. I also eat a couple of Subway subs a week.

stick to basics.. veggies, fruits, some dairy, whole wheat bread but just a little.. and meats

It helps to eat multiple small meals. Eating small amounts of food frequently boosts you metabolism because it gets your body out of the whole "starvation mode" mindset. Drink plenty of fluids because sometimes you may think you're hungry and it is really just dehydration. Last but not least, eating healthy is not just about salads (they aren't usually very filling) but about moderating what you eat and making sure you enjoy it so you continue to eat it.

Running is not going to get you the body you are looking for in terms of losing the 20lbs fast and effectively...i.e. long term.
