U know how they say you gain wieght at first (cuase of building muscle)??!
Question: well i been working out about 2 months. I gained maybe 4 pounds at first. then i leveled off. I lost 2 pounds this week. its a safe bet that im over the hump and losing pure fat now, right? I'm also not seroiusly dieting so i dont think its water weight. I do aerobics and strength training around 3 X a week.

dieting, drinking plenty of water, exercise.
here are some tips that might help:
eat veggies and fruits at every meal
drink a glass of water after each meal to flush everything down.
exercise 30 min a day, have at least one day to relax your
muscles so you dont over work.
drink green tea. speeds up your metabolism.
stay away from junk food, obvious.
you could bump up to 4-5 times a week for loosing weight.

oh and eat more than 3 meals a day.
they should be small though. hope i helpedd.
