How to make my protein smoothie?!

Question: I tried to make a protein smoothie this morning and it went horribly wrong..i am using freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, mixed frozen berries, non fat greek yogurt and a little skim milk, with some ice. i also mixed in one scoop of vanilla whey powder. my problem was that the shake was TOO thick, and the protein tasted horrible. How do i get more of a smooth, milky texture...and should i use less than one scoop of protein? if someone could help me with the proportions that would be amazing.

The whey protein you're using is probably already very thick, so the best idea would be to eliminate the other thick ingredients from your smoothie. I would cut out the milk and yogurt. Mix the juice, berries, and powder, and it should have a better consistency. I prefer orange juice in mine-- grapefruit is too sour for the sweet whey protein. But if you like it w/grapefruit, that's up to you. I mix 1 scoop whey protein into about 1/2 cup of OJ and that does it for me. It tastes like an Orange Julius. Yum.

Here is what I use. 2 scoops choco whey protein, lowfat frozen yogurt (vanilla), skim milk, 1 banana, fat free choco syrup, honey...tastes great!

i recommend using less ice and more yogurt. As for the amount of protein powder I bet it gives serving sizes on the package. Just experiment a few time and you should get it right

One scoop is not the problem it is all the stuff you added to it. Try just some orange juice, a banana and some fruited yogurt.
