A good clean diet and some form of activity for 25 - 30 min. per day is better than nothing. I would suggest getting an in home workout DVD or set. This will help with variety and ensure you keep a good pace.

Otherwise, running in place, (Vary knee height) jumping jacks, squats, lunges, push ups, sit-ups, leg raises, are all good exercises.

Reading some of the fitness magazines mentioned before is also a good way to see what you can do for variety.

Good luck! and congrats on making a change!

Eat healthy and get magizines like Self and stuff that have great workouts you can do at home. =) There are videos you can buy too.

go for brisk walks for an hour a day - it's less embarrassing than running and it works. u can also take a friend easily.

walk around the house nonstop for an hour every day
that's cheap and it's efficient

well eat healthier and do squats, sit ups, curl ups, crunches, run up and down stairs

pilates dvd's are free to hire from the library they are great

If you have stairs in your home, you can walk up and down them. If not, pile up a couple of phone books and duct tape them together to make a "step." Use soup cans as weights to do bicep curls. Do sit-ups, push-ups, squats, lunges and leg lifts. Buy a cheap bungee cord (about $1-2) from Walmart and use it to help add resitance. You can hold it across your chest and pull with each arm, or hold one end down with your foot and do bicep curls. Dance, clean, garden in your yard, do jumping jacks. Not having money for a fancy gym and not wanting to go out is no reason to forfeit physical fitness. Good luck. The possibilities are endless....just be creative.
