This isn't a bad routine. My only suggestions are to do strength training first - doing strength training after cardio pretty much negates the point of the workout and at that point you're really just burning calories and valuable lean muscle for energy. Also, see how you feel but make sure you have plenty of recovery time and you're taking on enough cals to match your activity levels. Workouts should be progressive and ultimately intense enough to make gains as you advance.

Don't worry about gaining much muscle; gaining a lot of muscle is a lot harder than people think, especially for women as women produce 1/10th the testosterone levels men do, even when the goal is muscle gain. Plus, you can easily control muscle gain through diet. Having some muscle isn't a bad thing. Muscle = health and is attractive.

Diet and nutrition is what ultimately determines the success of your goals. If your goal is fat loss, cutting out processed foods, not skipping meals, having a balanced healthy whole food diet is what will make you succeed. Also, be sure you're not going below your BMR, or basal metabolic rate, in daily cals or else fat stores will never be released for energy.

Good luck!

you're workout sounds just about right, however you also need to diet at the same time, since doing these alone will not help you slim down especially if you are consuming more calories than you burn.

Hello!
If you want to lose weight, a 30 minute walk will not do it. Burning calories is all about intensity. The harder you work, the more calories that are going to get burned. The pilates and strength training are great. I think that you should not be paranoid about gaining muscle though. Think of the Jessicas (alba, simpson, biel) All of those girls work out quite regularly lifting weights. You will not turn into some muscled freak just because you went for a run or lifted some weights. I think that for what you are looking to do if you want to build lean muscle your best thing is that instead of walking your should run swim or bike. They all burn alot of calories but will not build up the larger fast twitch muscles that sprinting builds up. So just set a steady pace and work hard for 30 minutes! Hope that Helps!

Unless you forgot to mention that you're also taking steroids, you really do not need to worry about "building bulky muscle." Muscle is good! Muscle is your friend! You will NOT become the Terminator just because you strive to build musle (unless you're taking steroids)! Your schedule looks good, but, since you're spending the time to do this, do yourself and your body a favor and push to gain AS MUCH muscle as you possibly can (you will NOT end up looking like some East German swimmer!). Your bones, your metabolism, your stamina, and your body in general will thank you. Yes, adding muscle means you might not lose as many pounds as you've somehow decided you need to lose, but seriously--pounds mean nothing! What, are you competing in the "Miss Bathroom Scale" pageant? No. You want to look great. Fit and healthy and toned and sleek and great. Get some freaking muscle.

Your workout is alright but if you really want to slim down you need to increase the intensity of your cardio. Depending on your age this may or may not help and the intensity of your dancing (which can be an amazing workout). If you are able I would turn your 30 minutes of walking into 30 mins or less of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). Basically, you choose an exercise or piece of equipment and do 45 secs of sprints (80-90% exertion) then you rest for 1 min; do 10 or 15 sprints. You can do it with anything, running, rowing, cycling etc. 4-6 weeks of this plus a clean diet you'll get close to losing your 20...

How fast do you walk?
What kind of strength training?
How much are you eating?
These are all important factors. For example, 30 minutes of just pushups and crunches are very different than 30 minutes of circuit training with resistance bands and whatnot. Likewise, 30 minutes briskly walking up hill is different than 30 minutes of leisurely strolling. Intensity is important; as is caloric balance. A good workout will get your heart rate elevated and keep it there. Strength training builds muscle, which burns calories more effectively. Make sure you eat enough, or you will lose muscle and not fat, which in the end makes your body squishy and gross.
