Question: For every 16 ounce of ice water you drink you burn 17.5 calories, 8 eight ounce glasses of ice water (or 64 ounces) a day burns seventy calories (that's half of a sub sandwich) so in conclusion, if you wanna lose weight your going to have to start liking ice water.

Note:I have posted the a link that describes the science is behind all this below.

Can't drink water? Good luck living past 50. : D

well, there's your solution, lol, eat as much as you want, then drink water and puke it up.

that's a joke, obviously, but you need to eat healthy, and water is part of that, try adding crystal light or something to it.

That's very unhealthy. Its healthy to lose maximum of 10 lbs a month. just diet and exercises daily and you could try to drink Gatorade or water with flavors and cut down on soda (if you drink any). Its not good to lose that much (40 pounds).
i hope this helps.

Fail.

Wow, you need to see a doctor, and try purified water or something. You CAN'T live without water. You're body will fall apart in so many terrible ways without an adequate supply daily. In the mean time drink fruit juices, skim milk, or mildly sugared punches etc... to help get the fluids down.

It sounds like you have a more serious problem (either physiologically or psychologically) and you need a doctor's help.

Don't drink GatorAid - it's full of carbs!

back in the day if i drank water i would feel sick. but now it's all i drink. drink it more slowly, in time you will get used to it.
water is very important for the body. you lose 40 ounces of water each day by just living, so it's important to replace the water that you lost. also, when you exercise you need to keep hydrated.
eat healthy meals 5-6 times a day. make sure you get plenty of protein and fiber. carbs are important too. stay away from junk food and sodas.
exercise 3-4 to 4-5 times a week. start at what you're able to do. if you can only walk for half an hour ten start at that and each week try to break that record.

Anyone wanting to lose weight should consult their doctor before starting a new diet. Each person loses weight differently. A method that works for one person may not work for another. Your doctor, or a nutritionist is better qualified to help you chose the best diet for you than the author of some book that has never seen you before, or some star on tv.
If you don't like water, drink a diet soft drink. Know what the main ingredient is? You guessed it! Water. Coffee or tea are also good to drink. You can also get decaffeinated versions if you need to moderate your caffeine intake.

What is the question? If you want to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you eat. That is it, there is no other secret. Try walking 30-45 minutes a day and eat 1300-1700 calories. 3 months is a long time and easy to do it in a healthy way. Eat low calorie high nutrient things like fruit and vegetables, you can eat a ton to get that 1600 calories a day. Water is important but you could get it I guess through fruit. Drink flavored vitamin water or make some drinks with a ton of ice in them. liquids are very important to losing weight, water is the best.

trying to lose 40 pounds in 3 months is not only unrealistic, its unhealthy! experts say you should only aim to lose 1-2 pounds a WEEK!! if you feel you need to lose weight, it shouldn't be a 50 yard dash it should be a marathon. i've recently lost 40 pounds but it did NOT take 3 months! in fact it took about a year and a half! and i didn't take any pills or follow any fad diets... i joined weight watchers (which i gladly recommend) and learned how to portion control and eat a balanced healthy diet, and im still slowly losing! as far as water goes... water is very healthy and good for your body. you can get used to it, and if you really need some type of flavor, add a little lemon to it. also, i don't know what your activity is now, but i suggest by just doing something small like incorporating some more walking in your day and slowly working your way up. bottom line: my advice is to change your lifestyle to a more healthy one and aim to lose weight slowly. after all, i'm sure it didn't take 3 months to put on that extra 40 pounds, so you can't expect to lose it in 3 months either! good luck!

no water = no life

hmmm thats weird... my spanish teacher had the exact same problem... is this miss madrigal?

well i guess as far as the water thing goes you could try adding cristal light or something.

40 lbs in 3 months is too much but since you asked......About 3500 calories = 1 lb. If you eat 3,500 calories more than your body needs, you will put on about 1 pound. If you use up 3,500 calories more than you eat, you will lose about 1 pound in weight. So you need to burn 140000 calories in 3 months, thats about 2000 calories per workout on a 6 days a week schedule. Remember on average a person needs 2000 calories a day to survive. So to answer your question you would need to eat only one day a week for the next three months to acheive your goal. Totally unrealistic and potentially life threatning. If you got the money sign up for jenny craig and get a gym membership. If not then eat healthy, cut down on your junk calories and follow a workout plan which includes lots and lots of cardio. If you hate water what do you drink then? 70% of our body is water!!!
