Is low carbs the best way to lose weight?!

Question: Diets do not work. They make you put more weight on. Eat better and move more. It really is that simple. You don't need to count anything. I have done this and lost. Good luck I really know how hard it is. XXXXXX

less food more exercise is the best way to lose weight and keep it of

Aye...Its not.

The main goal for diets are the burn more calories than you eat yeah?

A test was took out a few years back by some science bofs and 2 sets of people followed two different diets .
One full of carbs. One with hardly any carbs.
The thing that was the same between the diet is that they both had an 1000kcal limit.

Both groups lost the same amount of weight.

The best way to loose weight Id say is to have fruit for breakfast .Carbs for dinner. Protien for tea.

I dont like diets where they ask you to cut down on or eliminate certian food groups. our bodies need the carbs to function.

I recently joined weight watchers (6 weeks ago). I lost 7lbs my first 3 weeks. To my dismay i got sick with the flu and pneumonia (i work at a daycare, theres always yucky things going around)....and i gained 2 of the 7 back.
But still, thats 5lbs that I wouldnt have been able to lose on my own!!

I really like the weight watchers program becuase you can pretty much eat whatever you want! You get a certian amount of points every day and each food has a points value (they give you the tools for finding points values)... You can decide to eat a lot of heatlhy foods (Most vegetables have 0 points, and most fruits only have 1 or 2 points)... OR you can chose to only eat a small amount of a not-so-healthy food (1 bagle, with nothing on it, has 9 points).. points are based on how much you weigh.

Its kind of like going to the mall with only 20 dollars. You can either go into a dollar store and buy 20 things, or you can go into american eagel or one of those places and buy 1 very expensive tank top (actually, you'd probably need more than the 20 to do that lol)

In general, just by making healthy changes to your life - you can lose the weight. Eat a pear instead of 3 cookies, drink water with some lemon in it instead of a can of soda...
Eat a small salad before your meals and cut back on your serving sizes.....
Drink enough water and exercise...
(now if only i could follow my own advice)

With the book, the 41-year-old will try to help dieters overcome their battle with food. Though the book's title and publication details have not been...

I think it is a good way actually, its not true to simply say it doesn't work because for some people it most definitely does. I think you need to research how you are going to do it and what you are allowed to eat, personally I think the best way it to eat as much lettuce, green vegetables (brocolli, spinach etc), cauliflower and other low-carb veggies as you want plus protein and fat with every meal.
Check out www.pig2twig.co.uk, it's a support forum for low-carbers following that diet (there is an accompanying book), it's important when you are trying to lose weight ot have some kind of support network.

Hope this helps!

Your body uses energy while you are asleep; to keep your heart going etc. This is the secret to losing weight without suffering hunger. Just type iansanswers into your search bar for a website that explains everything. It's number 2. I was most amused by his entry about binge drinking. I follow his advice and it really does work. (It's free!!!)

No because when you go back to eating more carbs you will put on practically all the weight you lost.

Unless you can keep up the low carb diet forever; it will go back on, sorry.

I lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks; and I couldnt manage not eating bread or potatoes sometimes! Put on 6 in following 2 weeks.

only if you can live like this forever..coz as soon as you start eating more carbs you will put weight on....

You're better off looking at the quality not quantity of carbs. My colleague and co-founder of Diet Freedom, Tina, and I have spent a long time on this and we launched the Diet Freedom website and have had four books published on the topic. We also have a great panel of experts on the website team.

Low GL plans / diets have been shown in research to have the best results not only for weight loss but also for other health markers.

Please do visit, read more, find out more and we'd be happy to answer any questions you have about it too.

PS - it is a membership site, but there is plenty of free info and we're happy to answer questions as I said.
