What is the cause of food binges?!


Question: like the kind that you get where you stuff yourself with everything you can, but you just cant get the full feeling? my meals are spaced evenly apart throughout the day and i eat close to 3000 calories of whole healthy foods, but sometmes i just get the urge to completely rediculously pig out. i mean like a jar of pb pig out or 2 pints of ben&jerrys pig out. its so weird cuz im in good shape and all. i have found that i do it sometimes the day before a big test. mabye its stress induced? sometiimes im pretty high too (weed munchies), but ive done it completely sober too so i know there is something else causing it. its so weird, ill be making healthy choices all week and then bang, it happens. i am pretty sure i can feel the urge comming before i do it too. any ideas? i would love to go a few months without doing it. i am not crazy and do not need a shrink, so keep those kinds of comments to yourself. Everyone needs to let loose sometimes - if you have a structured rigid diet your mind will get bored with the routine & crave all things you've been depriving yourself & you go off track. Don't worry I do this a lot too. It's very common.

The fact that food taste so good and is something you have control over, its addicting.

Stop smoking weed!! That's why you pig out hello!!!

You should try to reduce your calorie intake to 2500 and you will still be able to have the occaisional chocolate bar or 1 OR 2 scoops of icecream! lol. You have to allow yourself the foods you like aswell as healthy stuff otherwise you will binge on them coz you'll miss them! lol I manage to keep my daily calorie intake down to 1500 a day and i still manage to eat foods i like.
Dont go overboard on the healthy stuff so mmuch if you cant manage to stick to it, i tried it and it wasn't a realistic plan at all! lol. There are snack bars you can get like Alpen wholegrain bars that are like 70 calories and they are actually really good. Look for these kinds of foods for snacks if you feel the munchies coming on.

Getting some exercise can help too , i do 20 minutes on my rowing machine at least 4 times a week and this helps me not put on extra weight if i eat too much junk lol

ps. im also a stoner so i understand about the weed munchies thing! lol
