pilates is designed to get those long lean muscles that you see on dancers and it will help your burn fat and build muscles but not like a body builder. and it is great for your abs so keep doing it and do atleast one or two days or cardio to burn more fat and pilates about 3 times a week dont forget to drink lots of water and have a healty diet

i just did this "pilates conditioning for weight loss' video like..10 minutes ago.. and seriously yeah it does! i felt the most burn in my legs, and then in my abs.. but mostly the theighs!
