Lots of water means hello bathroom!?!


Question: Okay so i just started drinking a lot of water to be more healthy. The problem is i have to go to the bathroom all the time! will my bladder get stronger?

I know exactly what you mean. I keep on-and-off going on phases where I try to drink nothing but water (well, and coffee in the morning which i can't live without, but coffee's mostly water anyway) to try to be healthier and every time I do this, for the first few days or so I have to go to the restroom constantly. It gets better though, I guess because your body gets used to the intake of water or something like that. It isn't really bladder strength necessarily, I think it's probably the rate at which the water moves through your system or how much gets absorbed.

EDIT: and it's not true that drinking water to be healthier is B.S. It is true that you can get the water necessary for *survival* from the food you eat, but there are so many other benefits from being sufficiently hydrated. You flush toxins from your body, you stay away from drinking other things that are worse for you, and I know from personal experience that you lose more weight when you drink plenty of water. There is a lot of controversy about the "Eight 8oz glasses" rule, but that doesn't mean it's not good to drink plenty of water

well, don't over due it.!!! eight 8 oz glasses a day is usually fine unless you sweat alot.!!!

If anything, that's a sign OF a 'strong' bladder.

The only way short of reducing your intake to reduce the amount of times you need to go would be to "stretch it out".

This would come with its own possible complications, though, and isn't a good idea.

Ask your doctor about it at your next check-up, btw, sometimes frequent urination is indicative of other issues. I think (ADMITTEDLY NOT SURE AT ALL) that it can be a marker for diabetes, among other things.

possibly but that unsure because every person is different. be careful drinking "lots" of water because you can actually drink TOO much water. dont do over 8 glasses a day....or 64oz....same thing.

After about 3 days your body will dump any retained water, because your body is now sure you will remain well hydrated. If you stop drinking, your body will start retaining again.

During the dump phase you will pee constantly, or so it seems. Then it will taper off somewhat, but what goes in, must mostly come back out. Just remember, every time you go pee it's worth it, you're losing weight and doing your body good.

It's not a matter of your bladder getting stronger, it's a matter of your body becoming properly hydrated, and when it's saturated with water it will utilize this water the way it's supposed to. In the cells and for nearly every other bodily function, so yes, keep up the water and you'll find that once the water has hydrated the body fully you won't need to go to the bathroom as much, because the body will be utilizing the water better. Try to have more water in the morning and stop drinking as much in the afternoon so that you don't have to get up in the night.

You're not gonna get more healthy by drinking lots of water, but as you've noticed, you're gonna spend a lot more time in the bathroom. All the stuff you're hearing about water is mostly just plain bs!
