How to I prevent the bar from hurting my shoulders when I squat?!


Question: I only squat 110 lbs cause I dont want to hurt my kness but how do I prevent the bar from digging into my shoulders and hurting a lot?

Get a towel and wrap it oraound the bar, or get a neck brace.

You can get the neck protector at Hibbets, ***** Sporting Goods, Sports Authority, any sports place just about.

Just make sure it has enough padding and is wide enough.

you need to build up your arms so you have more muscle mass to cushion the weight, as well as more strength to hold the bar.

Get a rag or towel to put on the bar and will take the pain away or one of those fancey mata ray things that go on it

You could do the front barbell squat. That way you don't even need a rack or spotter!

A Mantaray. Its a plastic molding that fits on top of your neck and shoulders and its like 20 bucks. Look it up. I use them every time i squat. unless you have horrible knees 110 is kind of low, your knees are strong joints.

You can rest the bar further down your back...just above your shoulder blades...there's more meat there
