Does being on contraceptive injection make you eat more?!


Question: i have been on the depo (contraceptive injection) for just over a year now but the problem is ever since i have been on it i have always had a bidder apatite and have been eating alot more than usual. i am a really thin person compared to most people and i havent put on any weight. i just want to know where all the fats and things i eat are disapearing to and if it is usual to eat alot more on the depo. can you help?

A side effect of Depo is increased hunger. Most women gain about 5 pounds the first year. You are completely normal for eating more, and you're lucky that you haven't gained any weight. You may be one of the lucky people with good metabolism, so even if you do eat more, you don't gain.
