if you start by mixing regular coffee and decaf coffee you will be gradually decreasing your caffeine intake, that is the best way to do it so you dont notice the withdrawls as much as if you stoped all together.

oh so hard cant to have tried a million times but nothing. i love coffee

i think you can, just start to slowly cut back, then after a period of time, you should be o.k.

Try tea for a while then go on to DE cafe coffee

The best way for you sounds like you should go slowly. like if you drink 2 cups of coffee everyday, first day drink 1 and 3/4's then 1 and 1/2 then I and 1/4 then just one. then 3/4's then 1/2.... etc. Cutting out 1/4 of a cup a day. Also, you'll likely need advil liquid gels for the headaches. Caffinene isn't that hard to get over, just the headaches are the hard part!

Just drink Decaffeinated coffee for a week or so, even tho during that time you might get some headaches because your body is trying to adjust,. but after you will notice results your able to fuction better without caffine, and then hopfully you wont want to drink coffee anymore, but you could prob. continue drink Decaffeinated coffee..

Goodluck!!

Talk to your doctor or a dietician. Caffeine is a drug just like nicotine is and you really might need help to get away from it. You should cut down gradually instead of just trying to quit cold-turkey.

I still drink a little caffeine each day but nowhere near as much as I used to. I started out by replacing one caffeinated drink per day with a non-caffeinated drink, like juice or root beer or sierra mist, then I continued to slowly decrease the amount of caffeine and increase the amount of other types of drinks.

Of course, I had a headache and felt extremely tired at first but I took ibuprofen and made sure to get extra rest and it eventually passed.

Caffeine addiction can be a problem, though usually not a major one, and with drawal from coffee may be very difficult. Many coffee substitutes are available, and decaffeinated coffee is used much more commonly by those who like the flavour and social scene of coffee drinking but do not like the caffeine stimulation.

Here are some suggestions -

1.For caffeine detoxification, it's important to support ourselves nutritionally while we eliminate or reduce our intake.

2. Breaking the habit by tapering down or going "cold turkey "will be better handled with a good diet and adrenal support.

3.Drinking at aleast 6-8 glasses of water and sipping on some mineral waters can help replace the coffee habit.

4.An alkaline diet is helpful during detoxification. Often, some baking soda or, even better potassium bicarbonate tablets, will help make us more alkaline and reduce withdrawal symptoms.

5.Vitamin C supplement supports the adrenals. B-complex, zinc and calcium/magnesium often need to be supplemented.

6. There are a number of herbal substitiutes can be both stimulating and refreshing roasted herbal roots such as: barley, chicory, and dandelion are most common.

7. Some authorities feel that if we are to drink a cup of coffee a day, we should do it in the mid to late afternoon, the most harmonious time. This best fits our body's natural cycle, as it does not interfere with the usaully "up" high-adrenal morning hours, it mildly supports our relaxing time of the day while we may still have to work to do, yet it is not too late interfere with sleep for most people.
