Why is it better to cook with olive oil?!
Question: I have been trying to lower the fats I consume each day so I have been using olive oil to cook instead of vegetable oil but the nutrional fact numbers are exactly the same so is it really better? Can someone help me with this one please?

Actually, olive oil is vegetable oil (olives are a vegetable).
Olive oil has a lot of antioxidants and prevents against heart disease. Extra virgin olive oil is preferable to every other type.
Canola oil has a dangerous fatty acid that can released in cooking.
Don't use olive oil for frying or sauteing. Try coconut oil.
But really, if you are worried about calories oil should be avoided. Use Smart Balance for spreads but avoid foods that need added fat.
tastes better
The difference is in the type of fat. Fat found in butter and other oils (derived from animals) is saturated. Fat from vegetable derived oils is unsaturated...much healthier. Also, I believe olive oil has omega-3 acids, which are good for your heart and actually help flush out bad fat from your body.
has the two good fats..polyunsaturated and monounsaturated..good for u!!
