Pica the eating disorder?!

Chew on ice, some people with pica crave that because it has no nutriononal value. People say doing it too much it may hurt your teeth, but it's better than eating soap or paper. Or you could try having a food you like. You should probably see a therapist if your not already.

Wow...If a plate of hot, steaming ravioli wouldn't tempt you, I don't know what would. Pica is beyond my comprehension.

Are you asking for help to distract you right now during your soap craving or are you asking for help with your disorder? It sounds like you've already been diagnosed, by the way you mention things, so theoretically, a doctor should be helping you manage things. What about eating something soap-like, like a stick of butter? Gross, I know, but at least it's food. And again, I only mean this as a temporary solution if you're going through a bad craving right now. For long term, you're going to need treatment. PICA sometimes goes away with a multivitamin, because it's a manifistation of some deficiancy.

ive had bulimia for the last two years and learned all i could about eating disorders, and ive never heard of that one =/

EDIT: okay....u should do the lil "add details" thing so that we can learn more about this. so you crave non-edible items like metal, paper, soap, dirt and that kind of stuff? to get over the disorder you have to recall what might have started it in the first place. when it comes to eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia there is normally a trigger after built-up struggles. "the straw the broke the camels back" if u get what i mean. do you have many stresses? what do you get out of eating what you eat? are you trying to lose weight? WHY do u crave these things? we need to know what you are thinking to even offer the slightest helpful advice.
