Blood pressure and health issues. Can some one help me?!

Question: I'm 27 almost 28 year old female, stand about 5'9", and have a large bone structure. I recently had my blood pressure taken and attemped to get weighted and the results weren't great. My bp is 140 over 70, and I didn't registar on the scales at the health centre at my college which goes up to 350lbs. I'm nervous and unsure of how and where to go from here. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can lower both my weight and my bp? Thank you."

First of all, good for you that you want to be more healthy.
I too was not at my optimal, and I decided to do something about it as well. (I was at that weight)
So, what I can tell you, is once the weight is off, the blood pressure will come down.
Now, what you need to do is decide how to do this. So here's what I suggest. (oh and I'm a RN...so medically it's only my opinion. Remember the choice is yours, and your doctor's.)
What I did was went to Weight Watchers. Since that's money out of your pocket, and time that you have to spend to go for weigh-in etc, you can look right here on the Internet for what is called the ZONE diet. There's a list of the foods you can buy,and how to put things together so your meals won't be boring. Remember to drink 8 glasses of water a day...if your water is boring, try a flavored water. (I wouldn't suggest the Vitamin water - too many calories & they fool ya by NOT telling you about the many servings in the bottle...so be aware that you need to read labels)
There's tons of sites you can go to. And there's ton of blogs where you can go for support.

And one last thing...go buy yourself something. YES, now before you even start. Why you ask? Because, you need something to show how much you are worth that you DESERVE to have now. And that it's the beginning of what you continue to deserve!!!
OH yeah, I bought myself a great red silk robe...gorgeous. And I still have it.

I'm proud of you. YOU go girl.
...let us know how you do.
Good Luck...I know you can do it!!

I uesd to weigh 431 lbs andI started out burning calories by sitting on the couch and lifting my arms and legs . Then I started to go for walks. I now weigh 275lbs and am only 5'7
I feel and look so much better. I train twice a week and watch what I eat,are you diabetic.

High blood pressure could be genetic, so even being a perfect weight may not help lower it.

Losing weight and exercise are great ways to lower blood pressure, but you should go to a doctor. The doctor would be able to give you medication to control it.

go to a health and fitness ctr not a commercial gym work with a nurse and a personal trainer you must do cardio and strength training no instant pills ya might need a shrink too don t worry it will be good , just one step at a time
