You should start exercising at home. There are many ways to do cardio: running outside, jump roping, sprinting back and forth, etc. Also do a ton of bodyweight exercises like pushups, pullups, situps, squats and the like.

You can even combine cardio and bodyweight exercises by doing the bodyweight exercises in a circuit. For example, do as many pullups as you can, then immediately do as many pushups as you can, then situps, then squats. Once you have gone through the circuit, rest for about 2-3 minutes. Then repeat the circuit 2-3 more times. If you do this intensely then you can burn a lot of fat off and get in shape. You should be dead tired within 15 minutes. Don't forget to do some cardio outside afterwards.

Another thing thats vitally important is diet and nutrition. Don't follow fad diets or anything like that. Eating healthy is a lifestyle, something you should do for your entire life, not just for a short period of time. Otherwise all the weight will come back to haunt you. Once you get use to eating healthy, you'll feel bad for eating the bad stuff.

As for what to eat, use common sense... get your protein from lean chicken, beef, fish, and turkey. For carbs, eat brown rice, potatoes, whole grain breads, and pasta. For fruits and veggies, eat whatever you want. Stick to drinking only water, milk, tea, and juice (real juice). For weight lose, I recommend high protein, high fiber diet. Eat some carbs, but not too many.

If you are disciplined and focused then you will be sucessful and achieve your goals. Remember that you only get as much as you put into something.

90% of the population don't have the perfect body. I'm sure if you are carrying a little extra weight you are not the only one at swimming. Other people may be just as self-conscious as you are. Swimming is a great exercise to loose weight as it is low impact. Get in there. Love who you are. To hell with everyone else. If they laugh at you, they suck! Show them you can kick some *** at swimming and aren't afraid!

WOW this is a tuff one!Well tell the coach your uncomfertable and that you want to do something elese!
Or you could switch classes unless its a core class!

Get a swimsuit with good coverage. You could also have a private chat with the teacher and express your concerns. This will prevent you from getting a bad mark in Phys Ed or getting on the Teachers bad side for not 'bringing' your swimwear.

C'mon, bro... just do it. Who cares? Nobody is the center of the universe! Nobody looks at you that closely, or discriminitaly. Swimming, and activity is what's going to help you loose weight. That, and of course eating right, too. Ditch the burgers and fries, not the swimming.
Take care, bud.

im in the united states navy swim team and I used to have this complex, then I noticed that nobody was even looking at me and it was all just in my head.
Get your butt out there and be proud of who you are. Besides, your just making yourself stand out even more by sitting out on the side lines!!

You shouldn't worry, I know it's easy saying that, I used to be very self-conscious in what I wore, I'd never go swimming and when I did I used to hate it, I was okay once I was in the pool but as soon as I used to have to get out I dreaded it, I was afraid everyone would laugh and mock me, To be honest, It's the society we live in too, Everyone is obsessed by their weight, I've become a lot fitter and have lost a lot of weight though from doing exercise, Don't let others put you off, If you exercise those pounds will soon drop off you, then the others wont have anything to laugh at :)
Good luck! :)
