Answers: is it better to perform exercises slowly or quicker to build more strength?

Im a certified NCSF Personal Trainer! If you train, and are doing your reps very quickly you will gain White Muscle Fibers! These muscle fibers are ment for quick movments and allow for explosivness. If you go slow and Controled you will gain more Definition in the muscle and more Power as well for heavier weights. It is best to switch it up. One week do Fast reps. Next week Slow it down a bit and work on form and weight!!! hope this helps

it depends what your working out for. in your case, strength, you want to do slow repititions, but more of them.
