Cardio burns the fat off, weight training tones the muscles underneath, making them more defined. Cardio sounds like it needs to be your focus, and some say that you can spot train with cardio (that means do cardio exercises at high reps on low weights to really work that area to lose more fat there than other places), though people debate about it. A reasonable schedule would be to run/walk for 1 hour (try to keep your heart rate at about 130 beats per minute), three days a week, and weight train the other two days in between. Be sure to give your body that time off (two days a week) to heal itself before you exercise again. When weight training, do about 3 sets of 10 reps for each exercise. You will have to experiment to see what weight is best for you. As a rule of thumb, you should REALLY be feeling it at about the 9th rep of each set. It is healthy to lose 5 pounds per week, and if you drink lots of water, your body has less of a tendency to hold waterweight (because it is not afraid of an impending drought).
Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions.

Actually - both. The aerobic exercise will help burn calories (you need to burn more than you take in). The weight training provides more lean muscle whic raises your resting metabolic rate - meaning you'll burn more calories just sitting on the coach than you used to.

as you get closer, it gets harder, it sucks!
It depends on how much is really fat, but I would say it's possible, you should put lifting in your routine but keep the running going till your bodyfat % is where you want it.

Good job on the weight loss. It sounds like you got to the tough fat. you should do a mix of cardio and lifting to help get rid of that.

First of all, congratulations on the weight loss. To answer your question, you need to do both. Lifting weights will build muscle tone. Your body will then burn more calories even when you are not exercising. Walking/running will also cause you to burn calories. You need to burn more then you take in. Most people who lose weight, eventually gain it back unless they make a life change. Diet and exercise need to continue once you get to your desired weight. If you go back to old behaviors, you WILL gain it back. The slower that you loose weight, the less probability that you will gain it back. Quick weight loss usually results in quick weight gain.

i would do a combination of weight training and cardo for your legs and an increased ab workout for your stomach. you would really be surprised what cardio 3-5 times a week will do for your body! happy exercising and CONGRATUALTIONS on your weight loss! keep up the good work!
