Add the dry otmeal to very hot (caution!) water or steamy milk. It's supposed to be served hot. This will make a warm, thick "porridge" type meal. Adjust the liquid amount to make thicker or thinner. Use skim milk if you're trying to lose weight also. Good idea to add fruit too!

You need to cook them in a liquid such as water or milk. You need a 1/2 cup oats to 1 cup water (or milk) bring to a boil and simmer for 3-5 minutes if they're precooked and 10-15 minutes if they're uncooked oats (depending on the consistency you like).

follow package directions, they usually require cooking (microwaving or something)

well usually it will have directions on the box. if im correct it says lik put so much oatmeal in a bowl then put so much water (but yes you can use milk they always use water though in directions) then u put it in the microwave for so long nd then u stirr it (oh if ther is a lot of milk still in the bowl it might not be ready) then taste it nd Congratulations!!! hoped tht helped

also make sure u get the oats in which u would want to cook (for example in the microwave or simmer it)

Take a measure of oats and 2 measures of liquid. This can be water, or milk or a mixture of both. Put them in a pan and ,keeping the hear gentle heat the mixture until it is of a consistency that you like. It is not worth putting in a microwave as it cooks v quickly. Oh and I almost forgot stir it all the time.
Stewed apple or grated apple is nice on it as is honey.
