Is oatmeal for dinner a good choice when losing weight?!

Good Morning! I can see the TDs on this one!
I lost 76 pounds in 8 months, by cutting back on the amount I ate...if you just want to lose 5-10, eat and excercize, throw your body on 'reserve', so it starts using its own stored fat.
Here's the good part...I finally went to my doctor for a CBC to see if my electrolytes were ok, and all the rest....the CBC came back ultra-normal. I can eat a Sara Lee cheesecake now, and not gain an ounce...because I excersize, but normal, everyday, almost constant movement. That way, my body doesn't think I'm starving it, so it doesn't store fat.

It is a great source of fiber

oatmeal is a whole grain and a good choice for carb, but where are your veggies and fruits? That is what you need to be eating to lose weight.

Some dieticians advise not eat carbs late in the day, and oatmeal is carbs.

A fitness guru type once told me that fitness models eat oatmeal for breakfast.

With regards to what to eat for dinner - I just read that models eat veggies. Just remember, your body gets used to your regimen, so if you eat light at din-din you'll have to continue or else you'll gain it back. That's why diets don't typically work.

pasta and rice are bad choices they have a High GI index meaning they do no fill you up for long, Oatmeal has a low GI index and is a good choice, but you need to eat some protein too -all kinds of reasons, to stop ur body burning muscle when losing weight, to fill u up for longer, and to provide a healthy diet....protein is in meat, cheese, milk, and eggs and some lentils and beans. Hope that helps!

When I want a more complete oatmeal meal, I make oatmeal with a cup or two of soymilk instead of water (you can use cow milk, but I don't recommend it). Toss in some raisins while it's cooking, so they soften up. I guess some people throw other fruit on top, but I never have. You can add some wheat germ or protein powder that has vitamins and minerals. It can be a hearty, fulfilling, nutritious meal.

I lost weight once, 1989. The best five days of my life. I don't remember any oatmeal, though.
