How about swimming? Can your knee handle that?

any kind of high intensity work out with ANY muscle will spead up ur metabolic rate...which means u will burn more calories..the harder u work the better u get..good luck

On account of your knee, you can do push-ups. Just try not to lock out your knee when you do it. Don't do a lot; maybe 3 sets of 10 or 15 depending on your strength. You won't get bulky unless you do a LOT.

Believe it or not, but pull-ups are great for anyone. Since you're a girl, use the back of a chair to rest one of your feet on. So when you do a pull-up you can push a bit on the back of the chair. If the chair starts to wobble, you're putting too much weight on it.

The thing about resistance training is that you don't lose the weight DURING the exercise, like running or other aerobic exercises. Resistance training will raise your metabolism for a certain amount of time (again depending on how hard you try). That's where you lose your weight.

Again, don't be afraid of getting a little extra muscle. I know you don't want to look like a gladiatorette, so keep the reps low on pull-ups. Try 2 or 3. Once you can do 8 with the chair, take the chair away and do dead hangs.

Good luck. Once your knee gets better you can continue to do what you were doing. It's obviously working :)

Eat less, work hard.
