dancers are always on their feet. dancing also requires huge amounts of muscle strength all the time. this alone would make you fit. some are on diets obviously, but its really about your strength, not how skinny you are. if you are physically fit, you will look even better than skinny.
these exercises are really helpful and burn lots of calories:
lunges
squats
jump rope
those are the simplest anytime exercises. you shoul exercise for thrity minutes at least at a time.
Dancers eat a lot more than you think they do! Hours of dancing and stretching and being on your feet all day burns tons of calories. Usually it is a high fiber, high protein diet... Low in fats.
Without actually going to a studio and training, I would suggest getting a pilates DVD and practicing at home. Pilates is a great exercise for dancers because it focuses on elongating the muscles and many of the movements mimic ballet techniques. A lot of people who do ballet use pilates to keep fit during injuries.
