Fever won't go away - what do I do?!

Question: Fever won't go away - what do I do?
I know that if it's been less than 24 hours, it's not a big deal. But I'm concerned because neither advil nor theraflu seems to be doing anything for my fever. It hasn't gone below 99.1 since around 9pm last night and has gone up to 100.6 at some points. Again, I know this isn't that high. I also have neck pain, mostly on the right side, moderate fatigue (a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10), and I'm cold even though it's warm. Should I be concerned?

Answers:

A temperature of less than 100.5F should not be treated with medication; its a signal of your body fighting infection on its own and only rest and increased fluids are needed. Sometimes we need to allow our body's own defenses to do their job and taking unnecessary medications can actually make us feel worse.
