What are my chances of having Long QT?!
Question: What are my chances of having Long QT?
I fainted once after a PE lesson but I was only out for a couple of seconds. I never thought anything of it until I read a story about Long QT. I have no family history of Long QT or sudden deaths in the family. It might seem stupid but I've sort of convinced myself I've got Long QT!! What are my chances of having this condition with my background?
Answers:
Depends on what type of Long QT you mean;
-Long QT caused by low Kalium. This can come if you don't eat enough salty food or you otherwise eat unhealthily. Even if you do eat unhealthily, it is uncommon to have this before other heart conditions.
- Long QT Syndrome, it can be caused by any meds affecting the Nervous System, and sometimes a cause is not found. Long QT Syndrome is rare, so with no family background of it, you won't probably have it.
But you still should visit a doctor about the fainting.
