There is a big ‘you are either with me or against me’ phase at the moment that not even common sense can break through.

As “Angel” pointed out, why should non-smokers feel the effect of smokers? If you’re that desperate that you need to light up a bus shelter or the street, then I’d consider you to have a serious problem, though addiction to cigarettes is seen as socially 'okay'.

I’m not against banning anything, I’m anti-censorship above all, though if the vast majority of smokers thought of someone other than themselves then this would’t be an issue, we would not need this law.

How many people light up on a street? Do you think about the person who is walking behind you? Beside you? Over taking you? Do you know if they have any serious lung issues?

“They’re just putting on a cough” phrase is a joke. I have asthma, and yes, smoke does effect my breathing.

I don’t think this law should be coming in as it is, if I had to make I decision I think it should be illegal to smoke on the street where you are most likely to come into contact with the most amount of people, you‘re not allowed to legally drink alcohol in the streets these days, so why not smoke?

Leave businesses alone, have ‘smoking’ and ‘non-smoking’ pubs, restaurants, I’m sure they would equally do a roaring trade in their respective markets.
