Does anyone follow the Feingold Diet for behavioural problems as well as diet?!
Question:
Does anyone follow the Feingold Diet for behavioural problems as well as diet?
We try to follow the Feingold diet with our sons. They are over hyper and have a lot of othe rside effects to certain foods (a lot of which we are still unaware of). I am looking for anyone else who follows this or knows anyone who does that can send them this posting so I have someone who can relate.
Answers:
We gave this a try, but besides being almost impossible to follow, showed no difference in our boys.
We have always tried to keep them away from processed sugar and white flour and try to avoid red dye so maybe that's where the difference is for other people.
The best thing for us is to completely exhaust our sons at least 4 or 5 days a week. It's much easier in the summer. A couple hours swimming, some bike riding, playing at a friends, and/or horse back riding and they don't have any extra energy. The hardest days are the ones where we stay in the house and don't have an exercise time.
Good luck, I hope it helps with your boys.
