The lungs are responsible for breathing in oxygen which the body needs to respire and getting rid of carbon dioxide which is a toxin!. Your body needs quite a lot of oxygen to survive and thus the greater the blood supply to the lungs, the more oxygen can be taken away by the blood in a given time!.
Also the same argument works for carbon dioxide, the more blood passing the lungs means more carbon dioxide can exit in a given time!. This is similar to why the lungs have a big surface area, more surface for oxygen and carbon dioxide to pass through means more oxygen and carbon dioxide entering/leaving the blood respectively!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your lungs are complex organs, but what they do is take a gas that your body needs to get rid of which is CO2 and exchange it for a gas that your body can use, O2!. To know the reason why the lungs need to have a good blood supply you have to look at the heart, because they are closely related!. Blood comes into the heart and receives oxygen from the lungs!.!.!. The heart then pumps the oxygenated blood (through arteries, veins have DE-oxygenated blood in them) through the body!.

The lungs is where the blood gets it's supply of oxygen!. If there's not enough blood flow, the oxygen content in the blood will be lower than it should be and can cause problems elsewhere in the body!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Your body needs oxygen to be moved around it!

Because the lungs take the oxygen out of the blood so if they is not enough blood you wouldn't be getting enough oxygen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Because the blood carries haemoglobin and red blood cells!. These carry oxygen, which is needed for respiring!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
