Mole removal by EXCISION!!?!

Question:

Mole removal by EXCISION!!?

hey im getting 2 moles removed from my face on thursday by excision and im really scared.. they aren't cancerous but i want them removed cus my demetologist said they are irregular and so better to be safe than sorry..

i am really scared because i kno excision will leave a big scar.. i have had the one on my cheek since i was about 3 and the other one came when i was about 10 (i am now16) they are both about the size of a circumference of a pencil.. what i am really afraid of is the size of THE SCARS..i am really self-conscious as it is and fear if he leaves 2 big scars i wil be even worse!!

could someone please tell me how big these scars will be.. how long the stitches will be in for and how long the wounds will take to heal after this???? and also could you talk me through the procedure of excision step by step

i kno this is asking a lot but i am really really scared about it and need some1 to put my mind at ease!!

please help!!

Answers:

The scar will be 1.5 times longer than the mole and will take 6-12 months to fade. The scars should barely be noticeable and will be a faint white line. Initially, the scars will look bad but over several months will start to improve. Make up is advised during healing. Stitches will be left for a week.

I can undertand why u are scared. I was in a similar position. I have had 2 moles removed from my face and 8 months later scarring is very faint barely noticeable. Good plastic surgeon is recommended. Good luck
