ITP is short for Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura!. It is a blood disorder where one's platelet count is abnormally low!. The blood doesn't clot as it should which results in easy and excessive bruising!. The cause of ITP is unknown, but it's often preceded by a viral infection!. Until her platelet count climbs back up, your friend must be EXTREMELY careful with her body!. The slightest bump into a corner or a minor slip could result in serious damage!. Thankfully, there are several options for treatment and I'm sure her doctors will do their best so she will get well soon!.
