Does anyone know how to go about getting an insulin pump?
do you have to go through your doctor or can you simply just order one? also if anyone has a pump already please give me your insight on them

Insulin pumps are available by prescription only. You would have to go through your doctor to start the process. If you have health insurance, that would help because pumps are expensive and insurance will pay for some, if not all, of the cost. The supplies are also expensive. You have to have prescriptions for the supplies as well.
Insulin pumps are a Godsend. I love mine. I love the freedom and flexibility it allows me. I don't have to stick to such a strict eating or sleeping schedule. It's so much more convenient than multiple daily injections.
Talk to your doctor to see of you are a candidate. Also, be advised that if you do get a pump, you will have to take a training class to learn how to use it.
