Question: Is there a way to check blood pressure with only a sphygmomanometer !?
we dont have a stethoscope yet but we have this top notch sphygmomanometer and i was wondering if there was a way to check your BP from just using that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, and no - if you can palpate a pulse point in the elbow, or even at the wrist, and can eliminate that pulse with the cuff fully inflated!. You can determine systolic blood pressure by noting the point where the pulse reappears!. That tells you the arterial blood pressure when the heart is actually compressing!. You can't determine the constant pressure- the bottom or diastolic number, without a stethoscope though, and the pulse palpitation method is not as accurate!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
