Answers:

Normal blood pressure for adults is 120/80 or below. Slightly high blood pressure is called prehypertension; this measurement is 120-139/80-89. Why did you get this result?

1. Automatic blood pressure cuffs (such as the one you used) frequently give inaccurate readings because the cuff is too small or large and because your arm was slightly misplaced (the "air tube" must be over the artery in the crook of your elbow).
2. Blood pressure in people under 18 varies widely according to age. A "prehypertensive" reading for an adult may be a "normal" reading for your age.
3. Usually there is a sign ("disclaimer") beside one of these machines stating that the machine cannot diagnose any conditions and that you should see your doctor if you have concerns.
4. Only a healthcare provider can take your blood pressure and tell you if it's high or low for your age. There are many many other factors to consider, such as medications, your sex, your height and weight, and your general physical condition.

Short answer: it is extremely unlikely you have prehypertension. Use this machine again, for fun, if you want, but don't believe it!
