TB Skin Test............?!

Question: TB Skin Test!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!?
About 4 years ago(freshman in high school) I had a positive tb skin test and i had to take the 9 months of medication!. Everything went alright!. And about 2 months ago in Navy boot camp they gave us another shot, 2 days later i had another positive read, now the doctors were trying to contact my civilian doctor to get a signature that i indeed took the 9 months of medication (eventhough i kept telling them i took it)but faxes and the middleman were wrapped up in other things and never got his authorization, so what they made me do is take the medicatoin until the signature came, but a week after that i got discharged and i stopped taking it and now i'm home and worried b/c i heard somewhere that if you take the Isonized medication twice is hard on your liver or something,body!?!?/ is that true!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
the first person is correct!. the drug is hard on the liver, which is why people who take it need to get blood work done to check the liver enzyme levels!. doesn't matter if its the first or second time!. its just unfortunate that they made you take it when you didn't need to!. at least it wasn't for very long!.

the second person is full of rubbish!. You are at risk of Hep C if you have contact with blood of someone who is hep C positive, for instance if you have used intravenous drugs or other dirty, used needles!. i can guarantee you that any vaccinations you received as a result of being in navy boot camp or in any other medical facility were sterile, brand new needles!. I agree with the poster above me!.!.!.however, if you have recently had elevations in alt and ast (a liver panel test) it would be wise to test for a liver disease called Hepatitis C- which is spread via jetshot gun vaccinations!. Veterans of all ages seem to have a higher chance at contracting HCV!. The service doesn't want to admit to the jetshot gun spreading HCV, but it does!. GET TESTED!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Isoniazid is hard on everyone's liver, but it nearly all cases it quickly recovers (once it gets used to processing it)!. If you didn't have any problems the first time, it's incredibly unlikely you will this time - the 2nd course doesn't make it any harder on your liver at all!. Best of luck to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
