I just found out I have high blood sugar...do I have diabetes?!

Question: I just found out I have high blood sugar!.!.!.do I have diabetes!?
I took the test because the doctor said I had a viral infection (I've been sick for the past couple of weeks) and I took the test after seeing the doctor!. I had tried eating earlier, but thrown up while at the doctor's and then went to take the test!. They were just confirming that I had a virus, but the nurse left a message on my machine saying that "your blood sugar is a little high!." I am now very worried!. Could the fact that I had thrown up before taking the test caused the high blood sugar!? I'm worried cause diabetes runs in my family!.!.!.I exercise, but I'm working on changing my diet!.!.!.am I doomed!. Oh yeah, I'm 25 and average weight and average height!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When a diabetic is sick, their blood sugar does go up!. Does this mean you are, No it doesnt!. But, the concern is there and it sounds like you are being proactive about it!. Visit www!.diabetes!.org!. This is the website for the American Diabetes Association!. This can help you with prevention!. I am assuming your doctor will want to retest you after you get feeling better!. So be sure to make an appoiontment for a follow up!. Good luck!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're probably prediabetic, but one test isn't the best indicator!. Sometimes those readings are based on what you've recently consumed!. Now if you had an extensive test that measures your sugar level for the last three months, then it is likely time to change your diet, and reduce the carbohydrates such as potatoes and bread along with your sugar intake!. You're young so you should not be doomed!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I certainly wouldn't 'worry' about it!. Simply take the test as an even better reason to eat better and keeping your exercise 'regular'!. Read up on the diet that is best to prevent!. etc!.!.!.I know plenty of people who were 'borderline' diabetic and put on meds!.!.!.but then changed diet, increased activity level and now are off all their meds!. Certainly follow up with your health care provider!.!.!.but take a more proactive role in your own health!. All will be well!Www@Answer-Health@Com

if your fasting blood sugar is over 125 2 times you are diabetic!. Some people can control it with diet others need meds because their liver or pancreas is not working !. Ask to have an A1c done this will tell you what your sugars have been over a three month period!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

nah dont worry about itWww@Answer-Health@Com
