Question: Diabetic and TTC - Insulin Questions
I am diabetic and am trying to conceive!. My doctor wants to put me on insulin right away ( I have been on Metformin)!. She says it will help me lower my A1C levels (at 10 right now) to create a more friendly environment for fertilization and pregnancy!.
Does anyone know questions that I should be asking my doctor!? I guess pregnancy and insulin questions as well as just normal I have never taken insulin questions also!.

you really need to start on the insulin!. I am 4 months pregnant and was on metformin also!. The Higher your blood sugars are the harder its going to be to concieve!. I dont mean to scare you, because my doctors scared me when i found out i was pregnant!. The higher your blood sugars are when your pregnant the greater chance you have of a miscarriage and serious birth defects!. Before i got pregnant, i had never taken insulin either, kinda glad i am now though, othwer than taking care of the baby, i have never felt so great because my blood sugar is finally on track, my levels were always high!. Insulin is the safest medication to take while pregnant so dont worry that its going to hurt the baby!. You will need to keep taking your metformin as well because that lowers your chance of a stillborn!. good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
