Question: Uk only!.!.!.nhs!?
has anyone else apart from us been mucked around by the nhs!?!? my 2 year old has 5 lumps in lymph nodes such as neck, groin and armpit!. we went to the GP back in April who reffered us right away after ruling out a viral infection,we went to early access clinic on 24th april she underwent bloodtests and they came back that her white blood cell count was high, this test was seen by the heamotologist who then said they would put it down to a viral infection seeing as she was only 2!.we spent 3 weeks trying to get in touch with anyone that could tell us what to do next,as soon as we spoke to another consultant and told her the lumps were getting bigger she wants our daughter back in on 13th june!. so all this time mucking around when she could have something wrong!. i am sooo angryWww@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry I know you said UK only, but I just had to say that unfortunately you would likely have incurred the same situation here in the states!. Dr's just never think or maybe just don't want to believe that Swollen Lymph nodes can sometimes be something far more serious!. Especially when you're young, the more serious options are automatically dismissed they usually just send us home with Antibiotics!.So many Lymphoma patients I've met while in treatment were misdiagnosed, sometimes for over a year, before they received proper attention!. Although Lymphoma is so rare I guess sometimes you can't blame the Dr!.

Either way I really hope your little girl does only have an infection of sorts and that the next appointment brings nothing but happy news!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am not in the UK but in Canada!.!. same prob here with the NHS!.!.!.!. I was told I had 2-4 months to live without treatment, it was nearly the 4 month marker before I got in to start chemo!. Very nerve wracking!.!.!.!. the waiting for tests, appointments, etc!.!.!.!. just terrible!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i'm so very sorry to hear about your situation; and than you for sharing :)

Respectfully,
