Question: I could not do my MRI scan!?
Hi guys
I went for my MRI scan and I just could not go ahead with it, i felt completely trapped and claustraphobic, i tried deep breathing but i just freaked, i really really needed it doing am am supposed to re-arrange!. I tried a sceond time but when the noise started i was pushing myself back out of it!. Has anybosy else found this experience over whelming and what can I do!? Thanks people!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There may be other of options for you!.
*You could ask if they have an open MRI or see if you can find one at another hospital!.
*Ask if you can wear headphones and play your favorite music!.
*See if they have music available for you to listen to (many places do)!.

This is quite common during MRI scans!. You could ask the doctor that ordered the MRI to prescribe something to take the edge off, such as Ativan!. Usually physicians are happy to help!. Open MRI scanners don't usually give the best picture, that's why doctors opt for the closed MRI!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I had the same problem!. Ask for a sedative before the next one!. Close your eyes and relax your breathing!. Do not open your eyes!. They also make open MRI's which you should be able to handle! Ask around to see if there is one near you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
This is a very common occurrence!. when you reschedule your appointment ask your doctor for a sedative you can take before hand!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
