What happens if you don't get your booster shot?!

Question: What happens if you don't get your booster shot!?
What I mean is, what happens to the stuff from the original vaccine injection!? Is it "destroyed" by your body's immune system!? Or is it lurking about in there!? I take "booster shot" to mean that more virus has to be injected since the first dose of virus has been "killed"!. Is that right!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Most vaccines are made with either inactivated microbes or specific proteins for viruses or bacteria!. Few still use live viruses!.

When you get a vaccine, your body's immune system should recognize that it contains foreign substances (antigens)!. This immune response may cause soreness, redness, fatigue, feeling ill, and fevers!. These are normal reactions to vaccines!.

Often, non-live vaccines do not trigger as intense a response as either a real infection or live-viral vaccine!. Though the immune system contains memory cells, over time, if not challenged enough, it may "forget" the first vaccine!. Booster shots are used to "remind" your immune system!.

Doctors sometimes will test the immune system to see how strong its response will be!. Schools, certain workplaces, and health care workers often need to be tested for common diseases such as chickenpox and measles!. Based on the results, they may recommend you get a booster shot!.

Refusing a booster shot won't hurt you, unless you have lost immunity and get exposed to the actual disease!. For most preventable diseases, the vaccine is a much safer option than the actual disease!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you don't get a booster shot your shot will be void!. You are right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
